How do you unwrinkle 100% polyester bridal gown?

Hang it on the back of the bathroom door and close the door. Turn on the shower and get it really steamy in the bathroom. Gently smooth out the wrinkles with your hand by rubbing down the gown. For tougher wrinkles, you might need to take a very clean dry cloth and rub the wrinkles smooth.

I know it sounds odd, but it worked for me. I had to pack my wedding gown in my carry-on bag on the plane. When I took it out, it was wrinkled and in a hotel, I didn't have many options. A maid told me to do this and it worked great. Didn't really take that long either.

Is Oxy Clean Safe to Use on a Polyester Bridal Gown?

I read online that polyester wedding gowns can be turned inside out and washed in cold water (by hand or in the machine on the gentle cycle). I have tried washing mine by hand (in the bathtub!) using a generic version of Woolite, but there are some stubborn greyish stains on the bottom edge of the skirt (from walking on pavement). Has anyone out there tried using Oxy Clean on a wedding/bridal gown? Thanks for your help!

I'll assume its white, and not some other color.

But yes, Oxyclean is perfectly safe on polyester, 50/50, silk, satin, rayon, acrylic, 100% cotton, etc.... I just wouldnt use it on any leather. But on any cloth, its perfectly safe. Do a test on a small hidden area with a 4 to 1 mix of water and OxyClean, and use an old toothbrush, rinse with cold water, let it air dry. I've used it on my old dress blues belt and gloves, and it did get the finger tips back to being bright white. BTW, the gloves are 50/50 polyester/cotton. Just dont use any chlorine bleach.
