Wedding Bridal Clear
How to politely ask one of my best friends to step down from bridal party?
I asked one of my best friends and college roommate to be a bridesmaid in my wedding, she said that she would love to. Now the wedding is getting closer, my MOH asked her if she was going to be able to make it (she hasn't proven to be the most reliable friend lately) and she said that she thought so and pretended like she didn't know she was IN it.
I am trying not to be a bridezilla. I have tried to call her so that we can sort it out, but she won't answer or return my calls. It is pretty clear to me, and I understand if she cannot be in the wedding, but I think that I deserve to be told. I want to tell her to forget it, am I wrong....??
Tell her in her message since shes not responding to you.
"I tried to get a hold of you and have not heard from you yet...
I would appreciate it if you would tell me if you still want to be in the wedding party...i understand things come up and i will understand if you would like to be a wedding guest instead. any way you can celebrate my special day with me, i would be happy. If i dont hear from you at this date, i know your answer. I just hope you accept my invitation to come to the wedding, as you are one of my best friends..................."
As being a bride myself...i know how your situation is like. It is frustrating to know that your question is not being answered...and the waiting game and phone tag is tiresome. not everyone knows how to say no to a person and they seem to think that silence is the best way to avoid a question. well hope you can get your question sooner than later. But you got to do, what you got to do...so you are not wrong in this situation...in respect, you should have gotten your answer long time ago.
A Summer Wedding Theme
The sunshine and warmth afforded by a summer wedding are unparalleled in the versatility they provide for your perfect summer wedding setting. Long days are perfect for a late afternoon wedding ceremony that culminates with the sun setting gloriously behind you on your wedding party. May through August is the number one most popular time of the year to marry and you should take full advantage of the season and all it has to offer when planning your summer wedding.
Summer weddings are perfect for outdoor settings such as a beach, garden or beautiful yard. To add some light to an evening outdoor summer wedding, light some torches and place strings of lanterns hanging from trees. As far as wedding attire goes, the summer bride will find that more than 75% of all available wedding gowns are sleeveless and/or strapless, making them perfect for the summer season. Look for lighter fabrics such as organdy, linen, crepe, georgette and lightweight silk.
For all the men in a summer wedding bridal party, a classic navy blazer with khaki slacks are perfect. For a more formal affair, perhaps consider morning suits or tuxedos depending on whether the affair will take place during the day or evening. A white dinner jacket is fabulous too and perhaps even a bit more comfortable than a tuxedo. Almost anything goes when it comes to proper summer wedding attire.
Summer wedding decorations should reflect the joy and bounty of the season. Use fresh fruits and vegetables to decorate your reception area. Consider clementines and cumquats in flower arrangements and fill the room with bright and cheery blooms like roses, sunflowers, red and yellow calla lilies, dahlias, mums and zinnias (just to name a few). You can also create an airy summer look with mostly white and light colored flowers such as roses, stephanotis, white phlox, hydrangea, white calla lilies, snowball mums and Shasta daisies.
For summer wedding tables, consider pairing your favorite flowers with seasonal fruits. Place lemons and limes in tall, clear topiaries and top with a loose floral arrangement. You can also create a lush garden look by planting bright pink hydrangeas in antique urns to flank your outside aisle. (You can plant them afterwards in your own garden.) Select bouquets for the bridesmaids that when placed all together, resemble the horizon at sunset.
Fill your summer wedding menu with the bounty of the season by serving fresh fruits such as watermelon and berries. Granitas and sorbets are refreshing desserts after a summer wedding fare of fresh seafood or even traditional barbecue for a more casual affair.
Summer wedding favors might include fruits of the season, such as pears or peaches. Small pots of flowers and seeds as well as beautiful wooden fans or crystal oysters with a pearl make the perfect wedding favors.
Make your summer wedding a joyous celebration under the sun, wherever it may shine for you and your spouse-to-be on this your most special day of days.
