Five Tips on Choosing the Right Ring Bearer for Your Wedding

Preparing for your wedding is a hard task; so, you must first set aside your excitement. Or else, you may not be able to focus and forget to attend to all you wedding preparation needs. In fact, due to excitement, the would-be husband and wife forget even the most important things for the wedding. Like the wedding rings.

You and your groom have carefully picked out your wedding rings. It may not be highly-priced; but, it is not cheap either. So, the one who will carry it during the wedding ceremony should be cautious enough to handle it. You do not want it to be broken or lost right on your wedding day, do you? Below are some tips on choosing the right ring bearer for your wedding:

1. Make sure that the ring bearer is 'old' enough to take care of your wedding rings. Do not choose a one-year old boy for a ring bearer. It is not a wise decision. The rings may have been firmly attached to the pillow, but remember, it is still not free from being scratched or broken. It is better to pick someone who ages five or six perhaps.

2. Prefer a ring bearer who is capable of staying in his seat all throughout the wedding ceremony. His task is not only to walk down the aisle with the rest of the entourage; it is also to bring the wedding rings to the priest or celebrant to be blessed and worn by the bride and groom. He must be able to give the rings on cue. You do not want everyone looking for the rings and the ring bearer right at this time, do you?

3. You do not choose a ring bearer whose mind is not in the ceremony; but, in looking for playmates inside. The church is not a playground. In addition, you wish for a solemn wedding. You can achieve this if you choose a kid that is not too playful.

4. Select a ring bearer whose mother can keep a watchful eye in him and on the rings. Kids are kids. There are things that can surely catch their attention. They need guidance. You can do this while you are being wed. Have his mother take the extra care.

5. Keep this in mind: your ring bearer is a child. He cannot perfectly attend to his 'duty'. Choose the one whom you think can produce lesser noise and minor plays.
Choosing the right ring bearer is a tough 'battle' for a bride, especially if your sister or your best friend wants her child to play the role—but the child is either too young or too playful. But, you must take note, you wish for a solemn wedding and you care enough for your wedding rings. You do not want 'chaos'. So, choose the right or the better one. Consider the list above and you can be sure of a trouble-free wedding.
