DIY Hair Accessories. Need to know how to make rhinestone hair pins- Any suggestions?

I really like DIY stuff. I don't like how expensive this wedding hair jewelry is. I want to make single rhinestone hairpins for my bridesmaids. Five at david's bridal is $15 dollars a set. I figure I can do better than that. Has anyone ever made hair jewelry? Do I have to sauder everything? I don't want them to look cheap, but I don't want to pay $75 for little hair pins. Any advice?

I got my bridemaid's rhinestone hair pins from "Claire's". You know, one of those cheapy jewelry stores in the mall? Try a place like that. - I think I only paid $4 to $5 dollard for a whole set, & they were very pretty. (Sorry, I don't know how to make them!)
